ISLAMABAD: Earth Hour 2011 was observed with national spirit through out the country on Saturday night, on which candle lightning ceremony was arranged in front of National Assembly.

The ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Environment in collaboration of WWF Pakistan, aiming to create awareness for energy conservation, climate change and global warming.

Earth Hour ceremony started by switching off the lights of National Assembly Building at 8.30 pm, whereas officials of the Ministry of Environment, stakeholders and students lighted candles in association with Parliamentarians, Members of WWF Pakistan Media Persons and Parliamentarians.

On the occasion, Managing Director ENERCON, Farid Ullah Khan and Secretary Environment Khawaja Muhammad Naeem expressed their views in connection with Earth Hour 2011.

Earth Hour was also celebrated at the government secretariats all over the Pakistan and different Ministries and Provincial Governments also observed the Earth Hour 2011.
