A remake of the classic nineties movie Clueless is in the works, according to Deadline.
Girls Trip writer Tracy Oliver has been tapped in to produce the remake whileGlow writer Marquita Robinson will pen the script.
Oliver took to Twitter to announcethe news.
"Crazy excited to be producing a *new* take on one of my favorite movies of all time, Clueless, with the hilarious and super talentedMarquita Robinson writing it!!! As. If.," she wrote.
Originally written and directed by Amy Heckerling, the 1995 film was loosely based on Jane Austen's 1815 novel Emma.The film starred Alicia Silverstone as Beverly Hills high school student Cher, along with Paul Rudd, Breckin Meyer, Jeremy Sisto, Stacey Dash and the late Brittany Murphy.
The movie earned $56 million in the United States on a $12 million budget, leading to a three-season television spinoff starringRachel Blanchard as Cher and a stage musical starring Dove Cameron debuting next month in New York.
No casting has been announced for the remake.
