LAHORE: The All Pakistan Private Schools Association has announced that schools would remain closed tomorrow (Thursday).
The decision to close schools comes as protests are taking place in several cities of Pakistan against the acquittal of Asia Bibi.
Private schools in Lahore may remain closed on Thursday if the situation remains unchanged.
Meanwhile, Punjab Education Department announced a school holiday on Thursday.
The announcement of the holiday was made in view of current situation, a spokesperson for the provincial education department said.
A statement released by the Private Schools Association stated that due to the deteriorating situation in the city and roads being blocked, students would not be able to reach schools.
The association called on the Sindh Education Department to announce the closure of schools.
