Water extraction pumps develop fault

KARACHI: Two water extraction pumps installed at the Pipri Pumping Statyon have developed fault.

This was announced by the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) on Tugsday.

It said that the repair of the faulty pumps was being carried out on emergent basis and the repair work is expected to be completed by Wednesday evening.

The normal water supply would be restored from Thursday.

It was further pointed out that some areas where water supply would be partially affected due to fault in the two pumps of the Pipri Pumping Station include those of Defence Housing Authority, Landhi, Korangi, Malir, Bin Qasim, Qayyumabad and the PAF Base Korangi.

The water shortage would be to the tune of 17 million gallons of
water.
