KARACHI: Prime Minister Imran Khan met withGovernor Sindh Imran Ismail and business community after he arrived in the city early today on a daylong visit.
The premier held a one-on-one meeting with Ismail. Matters related to political situation and ongoing development projects were discussed during the meeting.
The prime minister also met with Karachi Stock Exchange representatives as well as businessmen, and assured them of government's support in promoting business and investment.
The government wants to promote and ensure protection to investors, he said, adding that there is huge potential for investment in the country.
The business community delegation assured the premier of their support for the government's financial policy.
PM Imran also held a meeting with Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, a spokesperson for the CM office said.
He last visited Karachi in September, for the first time since taking oath as the country’s prime minister.
After meeting with the prime minister, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail spoke to media outside the Governor House.
Governor Sindh Imran Ismail said that injustice has been done to the people of the city in the name of anti-encroachment operation.
"Waseem Akhtar should take action against the influential," said the governor Sindh.
He further said that the traders in the city have played an important role in the progress of the economy.
The governor Sindh said that the traders have shown trust at the policy of the government.
