KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency cybercrime wing arrested on Friday a suspect involved in bitcoin fraud worth rupees three billion from Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

According to the FIA, the suspect has been involved in duping around 17,000 citizens.

The FIA has initiated a crackdown against the suspects involved in online currency fraud, saying that four accomplices of the suspect have been arrested so far.

The suspects have been identified as Hasan, Mehran, Nasir Dar, and Hasan Abbas, said the FIA.

The FIA has recovered four mobile phones and four laptops from the suspect’s possession.

The FIA cybercrime circle incharge Mohamad Usman initiated action upon the project director’s instructions.
