Police officer killed during raid in Rawalpindi's Wah Cantt area

RAWALPINDI: A police officer was killed during a raid carried out Thursday night here in the Wah Cantt police station's jurisdiction, authorities said.
According to the spokesperson for the Rawalpindi Police, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Riaz was critically wounded when the suspects opened fire during a raid on a drug-sellers' den.

"ASI Riaz has embraced Shahdat after an armed encounter with hardened criminals in Wah Cantt," Rawalpindi Police posted on its Twitter account.
The ASI was immediately shifted to the hospital but he succumbed to his injuries, the spokesperson added.
