ISLAMABAD: German Ambassador to Pakistan Martin Kobler who won the hearts of the Pakistani nation, one tweet at a time, said he is leaving the country with a sad heart but will be back in the country as an ordinary tourist.
The ambassador had announced his retirement last month held a farewell brunch on Monday to celebrate his two-year-long stay in the country.
Taking to Twitter, the diplomat shared, "What a memorable farewell brunch with my friends and colleagues!! Thank you all for so much love!! gave my farewell speech with heavy heart. Was one of the best posting ever!! Only 2 days to go!! Will miss Pakistan and her people forever.
He also posted a video of his farewell message to the country.
Starting off the video with a Salam, the German ambassador to Pakistan said, “This is, unfortunately, my last message after touring your country for two years. I must say I’m leaving the country with a sad heart but be sure I will come back as an ordinary tourist.”
He continued, “I spent two of the most wonderful years in Pakistan which were professionally awarding but also rewarding in my private life. I discovered so many beauties of your country."
"Despite all the difficulties you might have in the political world, social and economic fields I’m very confident that Pakistan will make away to peace and prosperity,” Kobler added.
He ended with, “I wish you a good feature particular the young generation. Thank you for giving me such a wonderful time in your country. “
