NOTE: Pakistan won the match by 14 runs
Pakistan and England are playing in the sixth match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Pakistan lost their opening match to West Indies by 7 wickets, while England won against South Africa by 104 runs.
England won the toss and put Pakistan into bat first.
After the toss, Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed said his side was thinking about the short ball issue.
"We don’t want to think much about losses in the past we are heading in this match with a positive mindset," Sarfaraz added.
England captain Eoin Morgan said the pitch looked really good, adding Liam Plunkett was out and Mark Wood included in the playing XI. "It's because we want extra pace."
"We know how Pakistan struggled against the short-ball in the last game. We will try to repeat the performance from our last game performance," Morgan added.
Prior to the World Cup, the two teams played an ODI series with England dominating Pakistan 4-0.
The match is being played at Trent Bridge in Nottingham where Pakistan and England have played 14 matches with seven wins each. However, the last time Pakistan defeated England here was in 1996.
