RAWALPINDI: After a suicide blast at a bank in Islamabad, the security of banks in the city have been beefed up.

Every visitor to a bank has to pass through walkthrough gates installed at the entrance and then a thorough search of body and luggage by the guards.

Manager of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Main Branch said security had been enhanced of the branch. Security guards have been ordered to remain fully alert particularly during public dealing hours.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Rawal Town Malik Matloob told that not only the security of the banks have been beefed up but that of religious places and shopping malls also.

He said police was ready to protect the lives and property of the citizens at all costs and to foil the nefarious designs of terrorists. (APP)
