KARACHI: Lamenting the postponement of elections on two seats of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) assembly reportedly for security reasons, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced to boycott the elections.

Addressing a press conference after the meeting of Rabita Committee here on Saturday, Deputy Convener of MQM Dr. Farooq Sattar said that it was unconstitutional to postpone polling in three constitutional seats.

He said that PPP were pressurising the MQM to withdraw candidates from the seats, adding that the polling were postponed when MQM refused to withdraw contesting from the same seats.

Sattar said that interior minister among various other personalities pressurised MQM. He said that the party informed Prime Minister and President about the situation but the intention of the government was not fair.
