ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan vowed to wholeheartedly defend the state's institutions on Friday during a meeting with former law minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Babar Awan.

According to sources, the prime minister stressed that the government would not let Pakistan be derailed from the road to stability.

During the meeting, the two discussed the Musharraf case, political situation, and legal matters, sources said. There was also a detailed consultation between the two on law reforms in favour of the people as well as immediate lawmaking.

PM Imran said that institutions collectively make up the state and that it is the government's job to strengthen state institutions.

In response, Awan stated that the state was in strong hands and praised the prime minister for leading the nation in the right direction during times of crises.
