Board releases schedule for schools to visit its office and collect the admit cards.

KARACHI: Matriculation exams will be held as per schedule on March 16, the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) announced on Wednesday.

According to Secretary Boards and Universities Riazuddin, admit cards for the exams will be provided timely, even as schools remain closed due to coronavirus concerns.

The board has instructed school administration or representatives to collect the cards from it's offices and has released a schedule in this regard.

On March 5, schools from New Karachi, North Nazimabad, Gulberg and Liaquatabad can obtain the admit cards.

Schools in Jamshed Town and Gulshan-e-Iqbal can collect the cards on March 6, while schools in Shah Faisal Colony, Malir, Bin Qasim and Landhi can acquire the cards on March 7.

Educational institutes located in Korangi, Saddar, Lyari, Kemari and Orangi can do so on March 9, as can schools situated in Site, Baldia and Gadap.

Schools in Sindh have been directed to remain closed till March 13 to ensure that "the isolation period of the suspected cases could be completed", as explained by Saeed Ghani, the provincial education minister on Monday.

The Sindh government's decision to shut down educational institutes was aimed at preventing the coronavirus from spreading in the city. "We don’t want to take any risk," Ghani had remarked.
