WASHINGTON: Osama Bin Laden had been killed while the latter's network was being destroyed, US State Department said.

In a daily press briefing, state department's spokesman Marc Nuland said that the network of Bin Laden was being destroyed. He said that US commandoes were in defending position but it didn't mean that the job in Afghanistan had been done.

Nuland said that a lot of work was still remaining to be done in the region that is why US security forces would remain present in Afghanistan till 2014.

He said that US was working to restore long term security, prosperity and democracy in Afghanistan and the decision being taken in Lisbon conference would be implemented.

However, state department's spokesman refused to the answer the question regarding US SEALS killing in a helicopter crash.
