Serena beats Wozniacki to reach US Open final

NEW YORK: Three-time champion Serena Williams overpowered world number one Caroline Wozniacki 6-2, 6-4 on Saturday to reach the US Open final.

Williams, a 13-time Grand Slam champion, denied Wozniacki a shot at a first major title to back up her number one ranking, and will take on ninth-seeded Samantha Stosur in Sunday's championship match.
