Another victim of dengue virus dies

FAISALABAD: Another patient of dengue fever died at Allied Hospital here on Thursday while 28 new cases of dengue were reported in the district.

Bashiran Bibi suffering from dengue fever was under treatment in Allied Hospital Faisalabad where she died today while a woman Nasreen Bibi had died of dengue fever on September 30.

According to Executive District Officer (EDO) Health, Dr Abdur Rauf, 28 new dengue patients were reported here on Thursday. Out of them, 20 patients were brought from various parts of Faisalabad while 4 others belong to Lahore, 2 from Toba Tek Singh and one each from Sahiwal and Nankana Sahib.

As many as 19 new patients were admitted in Allied Hospital while remaining 9 were kept in the Isolation Ward of District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital where intensive care facilities are being provided to them, he claimed.

At present, he said, a total of 80 patients are under treatment in both teaching hospitals of the city including 59 in Allied Hospital and 21 in DHQ Hospital.
