RAWALPINDI: Special Judge Central (SJC) Syed Akhlaq Hussain Ahmed Shah on Tuesday extended the interim bail of PML-N MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan, an accused of National Police Foundation (NPF) land scam.

Two applications along with PML-N MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan passport, visa and ticket were produced before the court stating that the accused had left for Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj and it was expected that he would return on November 16.The court observed that ethically, it was better for the accused to inform the court before leaving for Hajj and he termed it as an inappropriate act of the accused.

In second application, the court was informed that Sahaukat Aziz Siddiqui, the counsel for accused, has been nominated for Islamabad High Court (IHC) as judge. Therefore, he needed some time to change his lawyers. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till November 19, 2011.
