Funeral prayer of 24 martyred soldiers offered

PESHAWAR: The funeral prayer of 24 martyred soldiers, who embraced martyrdom in yesterday Nato brazen attack in Mohmand Agency has been offered at the Corp Headquarters here on Sunday.

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Governor Pakhtunkhwa Barrister Masood Kausar, KPK Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Corps Commander Peshawar Lt Gen Asif Yasin Malik, Federal Minister for Railways Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, Senior Minister KPK Bashir Ahmed Bilour, provincial ministers, MPAs and other high military and civil officials attended the funeral prayer.

Floral wreath was laid on the coffins of the martyred soldiers, who laid their lives for defence of the country. A smartly turned out contingent of army presented solute to the coffin of martyred soldiers.

Later, their bodies were shifted to their native villages and towns for burial.

Earlier, the Chief of Army Staff visited CMH and enquired about the health of wounded soldiers. He visited straight to bed of each injured soldier and inquired from them about their condition.
