MULTAN: The Punjab Archaeology department has estimated Rs 5.28 million for conservation of the five-centuries-old mausoleum of Hazrat Sheikh Yousuf, known as Hazrat Kiror Lal Eisan in Kiror city of district Layyah.
Multan Archaeology Department SDO, Malik Ghulam Mohammad toldAPP that the mausoleum was built by Nawab Ghazi Khan MirraniBaloch, the Baloch leader who had ruled the area which was named after him and called Dera Ghazi Khan.
The mausoleum is in the administrative control of the PunjabAuqaf department. It has been learnt that the Auqaf department has already allocated Rs 1 million for conservation of the mausoleum which is facing decay.
The estimates have been sent to the Punjab Archaeology department Lahore and will onward be forwarded to the Punjab Auqaf department after final approval for release of funds, officials said. (APP)
