FAISALABAD: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad(UAF) scientists have successfully introduced a new fertilizer model to enable the farmers to get the desired yield of wheat according to soil analysis.

The scientists were working on a project entitled "Synthesis of available fertilizer trail data for site specific recommendation and diagnostic survey for lower adoption of fertilizer use technology" for collection and synthesis of available fertilizer trials data, software development for site-specific recommendations and dissemination through CDs and access to web, and to diagnostic survey for low adoption of fertilizer use technology and imbalance use of nitrogen and phosphorus.

The project, first of its kind, was originally conceived by University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof DrIqrar Ahmad Khan to come up with such fertilizer models keeping in view the need of the soil to enable the farmers to get desired yield of wheat. (APP)
