Students participate in Inter-collegiate competitions
ISLAMABAD: Students of Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) (Post Graduate), F-7/4, Islamabad exhibited their extra-ordinary skills in Inter-Collegiate competitions kicked off on Tuesday.

As many as nine colleges participated in the `Dry and Fresh Flower Arrangement Competition' which were IMCG (PG) F-7/2, IMCG (PG), F-7/4, IMCG F-7/4, IMCG G-10/4, PAF Bilquees College, IMCG, F-10/2, ICG, F-6/2, IMCG, Humak, and F.G. college Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi.

The themes for Dry Flower Arrangement competition was "Birds in Paradise" and in Fresh Flower Arrangement, the theme was "Stunning Beauty".

In Dry Flower Arrangement competition, Bushra Siddique (IMCG (PG) F-7/4 got first prize, Fatima Zehra (IMCG (PG, F-7/2) second and Mahnoor (IMCG (PG), G-10/4 obtained third prize. While the consolation prize was awarded to Ayesha Riaz (ICG F-6/2).

For Fresh Flower Arrangement Competition, Fatima Masood (IMCG(PG) F-7/2 got first prize and Saumeen Iftikhar (ICG, F-6/2)clinched second prize. The third prize was shared by Saima Noor (IMCG, (PG), F-7/4) and Palwasha Khan (IMCG, F-7/4).

The consolation prize was given to Shumaila Qamar of F.G college Kashmir Road Rawalpindi.

The judges for flower arrangements were Sabira Ihsan (Ex-Margalla Professor) Riffat Javed (retired professor of IMCG, F-7/4) and Nabila Abdul Kareem (member of Rose Society and Islamabad Historic Culture, and was also an architect).

Meanwhile, the students council of the college conducted the Qirat and Naat competitions.

The chief guest of the ceremony was Professor Dr. Habib-Ur-Rehman, the Head of Arabic department International Islamic University Islamabad.

Fourteen colleges participated in the competition and the Holy verses of Surah Al-Hujraat Ayat No. 11 were selected for the recitation.

Ammara Aziz of IMCG, F-7/2, Islamabad got first prize, Kubra Qayyum of IMCG Humak second and Mutahira Qazi of IMCG, G-10/2, Islamabad clinched third prize. The consolation prize was given to Hina Noreen of Govt. College for Women, Peshawar Road, and Aisha Arif of IMCG, I-8/3, Islamabad.

Qari Ikhlaq Madni, Qari Ehsaan Ullah and Qari Mohammad Nouman were the Jury members of the Qirat competitions.

For the Naat competition, Fatima Yasmeen of IMCG, G-10/4, Islamabad won first prize, Fouzia Ahmad Govt, College for Women, Peshawar Road obtained second prize and Misbah Ahmad of F.G. (Post Graduate) Kashmir Road got third prize.

The consolation prize wasgiven to Sana Ishaq of O.P.F. College.

In the Naat competition, the judges were Hafiz Nazir Ahmad, Syed Zulfiqar Hussain Shah and Qari Ehsaan Ullah.

Professor Dr. Habib-Ur-Rehman congratulated the winning participants and appreciated the President of student's council.

Principal of Islamabad Model College for Girls (Post Graduate) F-7/4, awarded the prizes as well as positions to the respective students of different colleges. (APP)
