Rs30,000 each for 'drug vctims' in Lahore

LAHORE: Parliamentary Secretary for Health Dr Saeed Elahi, MPAs Khawaja Salman Rafique, Khawaja Imran Nazir and MNA Bilal Yasin on Wednesday distributed cash assistance of Rs30,000 each to under treatment 216 patients of cardiac diseases in different hospitals in the city on behalf of the Punjab chief minister.

As many as 37 patients in Jinnah Hospital, 101 patients in Services Hospital, 62 patients in Mayo Hospital and 16 patients in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital received cash assistance respectively.

According to the Health department, 173 patients affected by reaction of PIC medicines have so far recovered and discharged from various hospitals. These include 29 patients from Jinnah Hospital, 124 from Services Hospital, 3 from LGH and 17 from Mayo Hospital.

Meanwhile, 287 patients are still under treatment in various hospitals of Lahore including 39 in Jinnah Hospital, 14 in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, 94 in Services Hospital, 77 in Lahore General Hospital, 62 in Mayo Hospital and one in Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital. (APP)
