RAWALPINDI: An accountability court has sentenced former media coordinator for the prime minister, Khurram Rassol to three years in prison in the bank fraud case.

Rasool was sentenced for continually not appearing before the court.

Prior to the sentencing Rasool was awarded interim bail by a banking court in Lahore which had ordered that Rasool not be arrested till February 2.

Earlier on Thursday the Lahore High Court had rejected the bail before arrest application for Rasool.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday had ordered the FIA to arrest Rasool who is accused in the multimillion rupee LPG fraud case by January 27.
