DUBAI: Spinner Saeed Ajmal has claimed that the ICC has granted him extra leniency of up to 23.5 degrees for his bowling action.

According to a report in a British newspaper Ajmal says the special provision was granted because of an old accident which prohibits him to straighten his arm.

A spokesperson for the ICC has denied that any special exception has been made for Ajmal and that the Pakistani spinner is also bound by the 15 degree rule.

Ajmal was Pakistan’s most successful bowler during the whitewash of England and claimed 24 wickets in three test matches.
