KARACHI: A fresh wave of protests has swept across the country, Geo News reported.
According to reports, Quetta saw protests against Pakistan Railways anti-encroachment operation, Islamabad PEPCO privatization, Faisalabad low gas pressure, Lahore shifting of transporters' terminal, and in Karachi firefighters took to streets to raise voice against their denied overtime.
Protestors in Chak Jhumra, Faisalabad, tried to stop Pakistan express, tore apart a political party’s banners, and set fire here and there protesting gas outages and low pressure.
In Quetta people clashed with police and wrecking crew to stop them from demolishing their houses illegally built on Pakistan Railways land.
PEPCO employees are staging a sit-in before Parliament House in Islamabad to register their sheer disapproval of government’s plans for PEPCO’s privatization.
Firemen in Karachi removed their uniforms to move authorities to have the Fire Department pay their overtimes.
