ISLAMABAD: Rector International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) Professor Fateh Malik on Saturday said present management is continuing its task of cleaning the university from the elements indulged in immoral activities with undaunted determination.
Talking to APP, he condemned the recently happened events in the university in which a professor and librarian were found to be involved in two separate immoral incidents and informed that both of them were removed from the university after inquiry.
"The high-powered committee of IIUI is further following these cases and those who were responsible will be further punished as such officials will continue their immoral activities by joining other institutions, if not punished severely, he said.
Malik attributed the immoral incidents happened recently in the university to the criminal negligence of previous management which remained hesitant to take action against the officials who were found to be involved in such immoral activities in past.
The previous management of the university including Presidential Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqui and Vice President IIUI Parveen Qadir Agha hidden away such incidents through transferring such officials from one department to another, which increased this trend and boosted the moral of others, he said.
"Now the present management has clear cut policy of not tolerating such incidents at any cost. We are cleaning the university from those immoral officials through taking stern action against them to maintain the prestige of this international level institution", Malik said.
Malik said, "if the university terminates any official, he pressurizes the management through different channels for restoring his services but now we are not listening to any one in such cases".
IIUI has different committees, which are responsible to maintain the moral as well as academic discipline within the university and handle such cases. These committees are doing their efforts for maintaining the discipline of the institution, he added. (APP)
