Spring plantation campaign from March 3

KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) will start spring plantation campaign from March 3 to make the city green.

This was decided in a meeting chaired by Municipal Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan here on Saturday.

The meeting was informed that the Forest department, Sindh would provide 25000 saplings to the KMC, which will be planted along the roads in the metropolis.

The meeting also decided that the KMC would allocate 15 percent of total cost of all projects in future, for plantation.

The meeting, which was attended by all concerned officials of the corporation, also decided that elected representatives and other stakeholders would also be invited to take part in the plantation campaign. (APP)
