PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance Engg Muhammad Hamyun Khan on Saturday laid the foundation stone of Rs253 million Government Polytechnic Institute at Batkhela, Malakand Agency.
Former provincial minister, Haji Ahamd Hassan, local PPP leaders and large number of party workers attended the ceremony among others.
The minister was informed that currently institute was functioning in a rented building where a highly qualified team of teachers is imparting education to 40 students admitted in civil and electrical classes.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the institute would become a milestone in the educational history of Malakand, by training youths according to modern and contemporary education guidelines.
He said the government was utilizing all available resources for the progress and prosperity of Malakand Agency.
The people lauded the endeavours of the finance minister for initiating various development projects in the area. (APP)
