"Fake ID cards scandal " comes to fore

KARACHI: A “fake identity card scam” has been unearthed involving certain National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) staffers, Geo News reported.

According to sources privy to the matter, a group of NADRA employees has, allegedly, issued hundreds of counterfeit ID cards to foreigners, illegal immigrants, etc.

Sources also added that following the disclosure, some elements in the authority were trying to cover up the scandal by clearing the evidence i.e. forgers' identification and employment record.

Also, at least 40 employees have been fired so far in this regard.
