Taylor Swift has been caught up in a controversy after the past of her favourite book’s author Delia Owen's resurfaced.
TheAll too Well singer recorded the theme song Carolina for the movie adaptation of Owen’s bestselling novel Where the Crawdads Sing.
The American singer was happy to be a part of this movie and turned to Instagram and to showcase her excitement, saying, "I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side."
Owen too was also thrilled to have Swift on board and posted a handwritten note on her social media handle.
While many fans were excited to hear the American sensation’s voice, a few pointed out the trouble associated with Owen’s past.
According to several media reports, Owen, her husband Mark and stepson Christopher were accused of having murdered an unidentified poacher in Zambia.
Some people expressed disappointment that Swift is supporting someone who got away with the murder. Others said that she should have first get all the information before doing this movie.
Besides, Swift, Reese Witherspoon is also being criticised on producing this movie adaptation.
Both Swift and the Sweet Home Alabama actress have yet to release statements on this, as per reports.
