LAHORE: Punjab Assembly on Thursday approved six bills. Of which five were approved unanimously while 6th regarding walled city was taken up with majority of opinion.
Under the Walled City Bill an authority will be constituted which would ensure preservation of historic sites and other historic places in the walled city.
Violators could be put heavy fines with six months imprisonment.
Today legislators expressed their views with regards to International Women's Day in the House.
During question hour session, provincial Auqaf Minister replies to members questions.
But, most members did not agree with the minister's answers.
They registered their strong protest and on intervention and assurance by the provincial law minister they deferred their protest.
Earlier, the session was commenced with a routine delay of an hour and 33 minutes with Speaker Rana Mohammed Iqbal in the chair. As soon as the house completed its agenda, the Chair adjourned the session for Friday morning. (APP)
