ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have busted two gangs of dacoits and also arrested 23 outlaws from various areas of the city besides recovering 54 wine bottles and other looted items as well as weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
He said that IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan has assigned the task to all SDPOs and SHOs to curb activities of mischievous elements through high vigilance and effective policing.
Following these directions, strict patrolling is being maintained in the city and during last 24 hours, police busted two gangs of dacoits and arrested 23 other outlaws.
According to details, Bhara Kau police station along with his team arrested three dacoits red handed when they were trying to flee after looting Arshad Khan from area of `Mera Baghwal'.
Sabzi Mandi police arrested a dacoit namely Ayaz and recovered 30 bore pistol, gold ornaments and looted items worth Rs 40,000 from his possession.
He along with other accomplice later identified as Shehzad snatched these valuables from Chaudhry Imran in sector I-10/1.
ASI Nawazish Ali also arrested two thieves Siraj Wali, Awal Gul Rs. 15,000 while his other colleague ASI Tipu Sultan nabbed another thief Saleem besides recovring stolen items from their possession.
Nilor police station apprehended an accused Babar Hussain and recovered 30 bore pistol from him while Shehzad twon police arrested Tariq in possession of 30 bore pistol.
Industrial area police also apprehended a thief Farman.
Sub-Inspector Shaukat Ali from Shehzad town police stopped a car (JD-370) for checking and recovered eight wine bottles from it. Two car occupants Yasir Mehmud and Qasid Mehmud were also arrested.
Margallah police arrested Aamir and Rehan and recovered two wine bottles from them.
On the basis of information provided by these nabbed accused, police raided at a house in sector F-8/3 and arrested three other accused identified as Zahoor Hussain, Waheed, Ami besides recovering 44 wine bottles from them.
Sub-Inspector Saleem Ullah from Women police station arrested ten persons for their alleged involvement in immoral activities.
The nabbed persons were identified as Khawar Ali, Tanveer Nawaz, Ayesha, Nazia, Ulfat Ashraf, Sumera, Mehr ul Nisa, Farah, Asima and Saman.
290 grams hashish was also recovered from Khawar Ali and Tanveer Nawaz.
Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway.
