Inmate stabbed to death at Central prison Karachi

KARACHI: A prisoner was stabbed to death by fellow prisoner at Central Prison Karachi late on Sunday night, Geo News reported.

According sources, prisoner Basharat Hussain was stabbed to death during fight with fellow inmate, Muhammad Ahmed.

Basharat Hussain was the Deputy Director of Malir Development Authority and was jailed over fraud charges in 2011. His case is currently in court for proceedings.

While talking to reporters, Basharat’s brother Taqi Hussain alleged that his brother was tortured to death. He said the jail administration told him that the killer was epileptic and he committed the crime while going through the same condition.

Jail administration has suspended duty officer and other police official for negligence while investigations are underway.
