LAHORE: PML-N President Nawaz Sharif Tuesday said that the orders of the Supreme Court were being violated.
Nawaz said the PML-N was fighting for democracy and those who struggle for the judiciary and supremacy of law will be highly respected.
The PML-N president added that the PML-N would not let the Supreme Court be insulted and if the government had taken the right steps they would still be with them.
Sharif also brought up the rental power and Hajj corruption cases. “Someone’s son or relatives are being named in corruption cases,” he said.
Following Prime Minister Gilani’s conviction in the contempt of court case, the PML-N President has called for his (Gilani's) resignation.
On Monday, the Nawaz issued a warning to Gilani stating the if the Prime Minister did not resign and implement Supreme Court orders he would face a protest movement.
In response, Prime Minister Gilani while speaking on the floor of the Senate said he would not listen to the “Sharif Courts” and even raised the issue of Nawaz Sharif being the first beneficiary of the NRO.
