KARACHI: A private party of picnickers, who were staff of the Aga Khan University Hospital, met with a tragedy at sea near the Hubco Power Plant Wednesday.

An official of the AKU said that two of the staff members lost their lives by drowning while one is still missing.

Of the survivors, two are currently hospitalized. A search and rescue operation, with the support of the Pakistan Coast Guards and several divers, was underway for the recovery of the missing person.

It was stated that four Aga Khan University staff members, not students, and one of the family members on a private picnic near the
Hubco Power Plant, had drowned at sea.

Of these, four persons were rescued including a family member and
brought to the Aga Khan University Hospital. Two of them passed away.

A search and rescue operation, with the support of Pakistan Coast Guards and several divers, is underway for the recovery of one person still missing. (APP)
