ISLAMABAD: The national defence budget has been increased by around 10 percent to Rs 545 billion for the fiscal year 2012-13.

According to budgetary documents, an increase of Rs 35.207 billion has been made in the defence budget over the revised estimates of Rs 510.179 billion during the year 2010-11.

During 2011-12 budget, an allocation of Rs 495.215 billion was made for defence but the expenditure went up to Rs 510.179 billion, an increase of about Rs 15 billion for the defence sector.
