ISLAMABAD: The Capital police have arrested 233 persons involved in street crimes during the current year and recovered 190 mobile phones and looted cash from their possession, a police spokesman said on Sunday.
On the directions of IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan, all police officials and station house officers (SHOs) launched aggressive campaign against those involved in street crime.
During this drive, he said, the Capital police obtained the record of those persons who had ever remained involved in street crimes and arrested 233 criminals.
During this year, the police also arrested 119 gamblers during various raids in the city and recovered stake money and other items worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from them. (APP)
