ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police on Tuesday impounded 21 vehicles and 68 motorbikes during special checking in the city and black papers were also removed from 33 vehicles, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.

According to details, special checking was conducted in the city on the special directions of SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq after creating of various halting points. During this checking, 21 vehicles and 68 motorbikes being driven without documents were impounded while black papers were also removed from 33 vehicles.

Station House Officer of Bani Gala police station Inspector Hakim Khan and SHO Nilore police station Asjad Altaf along with police teams also conducted searching and combing in their respective areas including Bani Gala, area adjacent to NIH, Lethtrar road.

They also checked 125 persons as well as 100 houses and arrested a total of 17 suspects.

The IGP said that purpose of starting search operation in various areas is to ensure foolproof security in the Capital. (APP)
