Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making every possible effort to regain credibility for their Sussex brand, even if they have to divide and conquer.
According to The Daily Mirror’s royal editor Russell Myers, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are giving telling signs that they will be working projects individually in the near future.
Myers told Sky News Australia, “Meghan has apparently signed this deal with a talent agency on her own. When we were talking about the Sussexes it was very much about ‘brand Harry and Meghan, Meghan and Harry.’ Everybody wanted a piece of them together.”
He continued, “We had the Oprah programme, the Netflix series, the Spotify deals that were being talked about for big, big money. And now that brand has sort of been watered down, hasn’t it?”
Myers explained that the reason behind this is “because there has been an awful lot of toxicity with their dealings between them and the Royal Family.”
On what it means for the couple moving forward, Myers opined that Harry and Meghan will “want to take stock of the last couple of years.”
He surmised, “Maybe take their foot off the gas and work out what their brand means for longevity purposes and maybe that means going in separate directions will be the best thing for them.”
Previously, royal expert Daniela Elser also noted that “after five years of Brand Sussex, the sum of the duke and duchess greater than the parts, the former Suits actress is going her own way.”
