PESHAWAR: The Government Girls Middle School New Karimpora has won Urdu speech competition held between public sector Girls Middle Schools of the district Peshawar.

The Urdu speech competitions arranged by Elementary and Secondary Education (Female) Distt. Peshawar as part of Bazme-e-Adab 2012 held at Govt. Girls Middle School Cantt. No 3 Peshawar.

Speakers from 16 different schools of the district participated in the competition. Sofia Tabassum, Distt. Education Officer (Female) Peshawar and Farzana Yousaf District Sport Secretary were present on the occasion.

Topic of the competition was “ Fard Qaim Rabt-e-Millat se Hae Tanha Koch Nahi". The young speakers held firm ties between a person and nation as indispensable. They said that strong relations between a person and nation was must for survival and achieving dignified status among the committee of nations.

The audience lauded courage, presentation skills and argumentation of the speakers. According to jury decision Sundus of Girls Middle School New Karimpora got 1st, Mahnoor of Govt.Girls Middle School Cantt. No 2 stood second while Sajal of GGMS Cantt. No 1 achieved 3rd position in the competition.

Farzana Yousaf, District Sport Secretary appreciated the confidence and bold presentation of the students. "Participation in such competition was a real success" she maintained. Sofia Tabassum, Distt. Education Officer (Female) Peshawar,took note of the low participation of middle schools in the competition and asked heads of the girls schools to ensure their presence in Co-curricular activities. District Sport Secretary gave away trophies to winners of the speech competition.(APP)
