Shehbaz discusses crucial challenges facing country, reiterates resolve to lead nation towards progress

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif has been elected as the country’s prime minister for the second consecutive time after he obtained 201 votes in the National Assembly marred by the protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) lawmakers.

In line with the parliamentary tradition, on the floor of the House, PM-elect Shehbaz discussed crucial challenges facing the country and also reiterated his resolve to lead the nation towards progress and prosperity in his 1 hour and 25-minute-long victory speech.

Besides this, the newly-elected premier also called for bringing down the political temperature in the country and paving the way for political dialogue.
