Shakira is reportedly enjoying being free from the duties of a wife.

The Waka Waka hitmaker, who has supposedly touched on her decade long relationship with ex-partner Gerard Pique in her new album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, marked her presence on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday.

During this chat, the 47-year-old Colombian singer revealed that she was relatively "free" to make her ninth studio album after parting ways from the father of her two sons.

"I've been putting out music here and there but it was really hard for me to put together a body of work," the Dare crooner started.

She then revealed then when was with Gerard she "didn't have time. It was the husband-factor. “

“Now I'm husband-less. Yeah, the husband was dragging me down. Now I'm free. Now I can actually work," she addressed.

This acknowledgement comes after Shakira expressed regret to keep her ambitions on hold for her ex-partner.

In an earlier chat, Shakira told The Sunday Times, “For a long time I put my career on hold, to be next to Gerard, so he could play football.”

She continued to declare before conclusion, “There was a lot of sacrifice for love."
