Arnold Schwarzenegger recently discussed his own mental struggles as he wanted to encourage fans beat their negative mindset.
In a Q&A on the Pump App, Schwarzenegger shared his experiences dealing with low moods and aimed to uplift a fan seeking relief from negativity.
At this point, Arnold discussed his own struggles, comparing them to post-surgery mental health challenges.
Acknowledging that 'temporary depression' is normal after major health issues, he explained, “But I try to recalibrate as quickly as I can, and bring myself to what I can control because there is no anxiety in what you know you can do.”
The famous former bodybuilder stressed the benefit of gentle movement like breathing or walking for mental wellness and advised using positive self-talk to ease depressive feelings before reassuring fans that depression is not a “failure of any kind.”
For those unversed, the Terminator actor had three open-heart surgeries before getting a pacemaker this month which regulates his irregular heartbeat.
Arnold also revealed in his podcast that has a hereditary heart defect which is a bicuspid aortic valve where people have two leaflets, instead of three in a normal aortic valve.
Before signing off at the time he also shared the dangers of such a disease and added, "My mother and her mother’s bicuspid valves killed them. I’m still here because of medical innovation and being very diligent about staying in touch with my doctors and listening to them."
