Rebel Wilson says losing her virginity at age 35 was not part of an April Fool joke as she wrote the experience in her bombshell memoir Rebel Rising which is set to release on April 2.
During an interview with Today, the British comedian said, “Nobody knew that about me, and I just thought, 'If I'm going to write a memoir, I'm just going to put everything in it.’l
Adding, "So the first person (to find out) was the editor of the book, Mindy.”
Expanding on the topic, Rebel brought up the film The 40-Year-Old-Virgin which deals with the same issue.
“I thought, ‘Well, maybe if I lose my virginity before 40 it won’t be that bad,” the 44-year-old joked.
Admitting the fear of telling her story, Rebel said she was reluctant to share due to the stigma that is linked with it.
"But then on the other hand, I'm so glad that I lost my virginity on my terms." noting, "I mean, I was more than ready by that age."
