Cher's son deems her 'unfit' for conservatorship

Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman hits back at his mom’s another attempt to gain control of his life and finances.

A source told In Touch that the 47-year-old son of the music legend is fighting back “desperately” against her petitions of gaining conservatorship, citing his issues with substance abuse.

His struggle comes after courts denied Cher’s petition twice as they found Elijah “fit” to take care of his finances.

However, she has once again filed a request to gain access to his medical records.

Responding to her plea, Elijah, who is Cher’s son with the late blues rocker Gregg Allman, claims his mother has no right and is “unfit” to take over his life.

“My mother is 77 and will be 78 when this matter is heard. I have seen her suffer from depression in the past and I do not believe she is capable of making appropriate decisions for my estate,” he stated in his response to the court.

His reply comes after a judge noted in January that Elijah’s recent drug tests had come back clean, and he appeared to be handling his finances well.

Moreover, he has also denied being mentally ill after his mother claimed that he suffers from schizophrenic disorder

“I have struggled with addiction, but I am not mentally ill. I have control over my faculties,” Elijah clarified.
