Claim

On June 7, a user on X (formerly Twitter) shared a screenshot purporting to be from a Transparency International report, stating, "Balochistan has been ranked as the 1st most corrupt region in the Asia Pacific and world." The caption of the post mockingly congratulated the people of Balochistan for this ranking.

At the time of writing, the post had garnered over 3,229 views, 278 likes, and 175 reposts.

Fact

Neither Transparency International in Germany nor Transparency International Pakistan has released any report ranking Balochistan as the most corrupt region in Asia or globally. The press department of Transparency International confirmed via email to Geo Fact Check that no such survey has been conducted or released by the organisation.

Transparency International Pakistan, based in Karachi, also debunked the claim, labeling it as "fake" and confirmed in an email response that no such report or survey has been issued by either entity recently or in the past.

Additionally, Geo Fact Check found no evidence of such a poll or survey on Transparency International's official website.
