KARACHI: At least 13 people have been killed in separate incidents of firing in different parts of Karachi as targeted killing continued unabated in the city on Saturday, Geo News reported.

According to police, two men were killed in Haidery and Gulbahar areas of the city.

The police said unidentified assailants gunned down Qari Shafiq within the remits of Mubina Town Police Station. The killing sparked tension in the areas as enraged protesters took to the road and burnt tyers.

A spokesman for the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat said the deceased was a prayer leader at a local mosque and was affiliated with the party.

A woman was shot dead in Raees Gaoth near Mauripur. Four people, including two activists of a religious party were killed in Orangi Town.

Three other people lost their lives in Sarjani Town and Jenhagir Road. They were identified as Sabir, Shafqat and Mubarak.
