Former Bad Boy rapper Moses 'Shyne' Barrow is praying for both Sean Diddy Combs and his victims.
Barrow, 46, was speaking with the press at the premiere of his documentaryThe Honorable Shyne, where the conversation turned to Combs, 55.
"First and foremost, you pray for the victims," Barrow told People Magazine. "People like Cassie [Ventura] and whoever else is alleged," he added referring to the viral video of Combs beating up his then-girlfriend Ventura in a hotel corridor.
"We live in a world, in democracies at least, where the rule of law is tantamount. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. I pray for justice, I pray for the victims. I pray for Diddy."
Barrow, who currently serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the Belize House of Representatives, iterated that he doesn't hold any grudges against Combs despite having spent eight years in prison after he was involved in a New York City club shooting with him in 1991.
Barrow, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2001, was released in 2009 and deported back to Belize.
At the time, Combs was also accused of shooting but acquitted of all charges after he claimed during his trial that he only fired in self-defense.
Barrow added, "I hope he can figure out what he needs to do to get through this very challenging time in his life, and that’s something for him to deal with," he said. "I wish everyone well. I’m at a place where I don’t need anyone to fail or suffer for me to have pleasure or success."
The former rapper then reiterated his sympathy for Ventura—who filed a now-settled lawsuit against Combs in 2023, alleging a decade-long "cycle of abuse, violence and sex trafficking."
"I wish everyone well, including Diddy," Barrow added. "Cassie has been through some horrendous experiences, and there are other people claiming the same thing. I pray for everyone involved, especially the alleged victims."
In the Hulu documentary, directed by Marcus A. Clarke, Barrow revisits the rise and fall of his music career and his return to his home country, where he pursued a career in politics.
