KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) amir Syed Munawar Hasan has said that the nation would witness a welcome change after the coming general elections, as people have already been fed up with corrupt and dishonest elements.
Addressing a Karachi to Peshawar 'Tarazu Road Karawan' organised by Shabab-e-Milli here on Sunday, he said Pakistan is on the brink of a big peaceful political change. He said the 10-parties alliance would prove a good omen to defeat the elements behind lawlessness in Karachi.
He said that the chapter of seat adjustment with any party has been closed and the JI will contest elections individually. He further added the seat adjustment chapter was closed in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) by Jamait Ulema Islam-Fazl (PML-F) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, while in Punjab by Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N).
He said that the JI is the ray of hope for deprived people of Pakistan and on the day of elections - May 11- Pakistani voters will definitely rejected the slavery of United States. He said the JI will take part in the elections with a firm faith on Allah, the Almighty, and the will of people of Pakistan.
Munawar appealed youth to vote for 'Tarazu' to make the country prosperous and developed. He vowed that the JI leadership will eliminate corruption, extortion and terrorism.
Munawar Hasan demanded of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take notice of the salvo of paid advertisement of different political parties on various TV channels.
JI leaders Dr Mairaj-ul-Huda Siddiqui, Asadullah Bhutto, Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, President Shabab-e-Milli Sindh Azeem Baloch and others also spoke.
