On December 23, a Facebook account shared a 39-second video, which allegedly showed a news report aired on Geo News, overlaid with the text: "Imran Khan has apologised to Nawaz Sharif."

In the video, Geo News’ anchor is supposedly heard saying that the jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder has written a letter to Nawaz. The report claims Khan expressed regret for accusing Nawaz, entangling him in false corruption cases, and "brainwashing" the youth of the country.
